ALAMEDA, Calif.- July 6, 2004 - Wind River Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:WIND), the global leader in device software optimization (DSO), today announced that Damian Artt and Mark Fournival have joined Wind River as the new vice president, worldwide professional services and new vice president of North American sales, respectively. The appointments strengthen Wind River's ability to execute on its commitment to ensure DSO success for its customers worldwide.
Artt joins Wind River from Cadence Design Systems where he served as vice president, engineering services, North America. In that position, Artt overhauled Cadence's services go-to-market strategy and delivery framework. In the 2002-2003 time frame, Artt grew services bookings by 130 percent, including a 20-point improvement in repeat business and contribution dollars by 187 percent. Artt will drive Wind River's professional services and support efforts worldwide to further establish services as a strategic element to Wind River's DSO solution portfolio.
Fournival comes to Wind River from Edify Corporation where he served as vice president, sales. Prior to Edify, he worked at Cadence Design Systems as corporate vice president, North American sales. During his tenure, he grew the North American percentage of worldwide business from 48 percent to 62 percent and exceeded bookings and revenue targets every year, eventually totaling $955 million in product, services and maintenance revenue. Fournival will pull from his decades of experience and proven track record at developing sales teams in the software and services industry to strengthen Wind River's sales force.
With more than fifty years combined experience in device software markets, Wind River's leadership team is primed to execute on the vision of DSO—the strategy to minimize the inefficiencies and complexities in the device software space and accelerate the standardization of device software development. Wind River's strong management team, integrated product offerings and growing partnerships create a unique value proposition, enabling customers to develop and run device software better, faster, at a lower cost and more reliably.
"We're pleased to round out our management team with such exceptional and proven leaders," said Ken Klein, CEO of Wind River. "With the addition of Damian and Mark, we have significantly increased our sales execution and strengthened our ability to support our customers, ensuring their success."
