Both VxWorks 653 Platform and Wind River VxWorks Cert Platform are certified to RTCA DO-178B/EUROCAE ED-12B Level A, and conform with the latest RTCA DO-178C/EUROCAE ED-12C specifications.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)
The expanded use and diverse mission operations of UAVs have exposed safety and security concerns that are not easily addressed in current unmanned system architectures. Complex demands for UAVs span the gamut from uninterrupted control of the vehicle to maintaining information assurance for communications across unsecured networks. Achieving safe control and communication security without increasing space, weight, and power (SWaP) demands poses serious challenges to unmanned vehicle system architecture.
Wind River addresses the challenges of unmanned systems by leveraging our successful solutions for safety critical avionics platforms and our high performance secure communications solutions to deliver reliable, standards-based COTS capability for unmanned systems. Wind River products have been deployed in highly successful UAV platforms, including Northrop Grumman's X-47B unmanned combat air system (UCAS).
