In my previous blog post I discussed the paper “Development and certification of a safety-critical touch screen avionics display using open standards” which I had recently co-presented with one of our customers, AgustaWestland, at the Safety-critical Systems Symposium in the UK.
AgustaWestland has now also kindly allowed Wind River to publish a customer case study about this project. This provides a high-level overview of the project requirements and challenges, and how AgustaWestland was able to successfully address these using Wind River’s ARINC 653-compliant VxWorks 653 RTOS. The case study is also quite a lot shorter than the conference paper, which may appeal to people who don’t need to know all of the technical details!
The case study can be downloaded from the Aerospace & Defence customers page (or direct link to PDF). If you’re interested in reading the full conference paper, it’s available for download/purchase from the symposium website, and the full published proceedings are also available from Amazon.
